Zalissa’s Story
Burkina Faso is one of the world’s most overlooked crises. Today, over six million people across the country are displaced and need urgent support. Zalissa is one of them.
A mother of six, Zalissa was forced to flee her home when violence made it impossible to stay. With nowhere else to go, she now lives with her family in a displacement camp, trying to protect her children and rebuild some sense of normalcy.
With the support of compassionate donors like you, ShelterBox was able to provide Zalissa’s family with durable emergency shelter and essential household items like wash kits, sleeping mats, kitchen sets, blankets, and water carriers – simple things that help restore dignity and safety.
Zalissa shares what this support has meant to her:
“All the aid has improved our living conditions. The kitchen utensils allow us to eat healthily. The blankets protect us from the cold and from illnesses. I remain hopeful that tomorrow will be better.”
